The Founder

Fundrate was founded by Wesley Vos, a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to empowering South Africans to make informed financial decisions. Wesley’s journey has been marked by both successes and challenges, each shaping his understanding of what it takes to build and sustain a business. His experiences have taught him that the path to financial success is rarely straightforward, but with the right knowledge and tools, anyone can navigate it.
Before starting Fundrate, Wesley founded VOSK Shoes, a South African sneaker brand committed to local manufacturing and giving back to the community. While the brand’s mission was clear and impactful, Wesley encountered the many complexities of running a business—from managing finances and marketing to handling operations and building a brand. Despite his best efforts, VOSK Shoes eventually closed, largely due to financial challenges and a lack of access to strategic funding.
This experience, while difficult, was also eye-opening. It highlighted a critical gap in financial literacy and access to resources for many South Africans, especially entrepreneurs and small business owners. Wesley realized that many people, like himself, were making decisions without the full understanding of the financial implications or the tools needed to succeed.
With Fundrate, Wesley aims to fill this gap. He is committed to creating a platform that not only reviews and compares financial products but also educates its users on financial literacy.
